Earlier this spring, our two older boys participated in organized sports for the first time. C played flag football (his pick), and L was enrolled in a "Discovery Program" where they learned a different sport every 2 weeks. L was pretty good at ball skills like throwing and such. In addition to learning flag football skills and showing overall improvement with ball skills, C learned how to be a bit more assertive/agressive, which if you know him at all, you know those 2 qualities are not really part of his sweet personality. They both enjoyed playing, and I think it was a really good learning experience for them.
L was supposed to be practicing some baseball skills in the picture below. Um, I think he was a little distracted from the task at hand. It was so fun watching the 3 and 4 years olds playing sports. They were so cute!
Check out this face of determination!
The older kids were great to watch also. They would really get into the game and show such excitement!
Fun times! And boy, am I glad we did this during the early Spring because it is already so HOT.
