so proud

Our C Man progressed to the next level at swim lessons, which means he is doing so much better with putting his face and head under water. We are so excited and proud...and he is too!

a tribute

Recently, I read something regarding luck. Someone indicated my brother had been "lucky" to find a job so quickly after graduating. He pointed out that luck did not have much to do with him finding a job, and that he had worked his butt off to get to where he is now. In fact, the position that he was hired for was not even open when he initially inquired!

I have to agree with my brother. Okay, yes, I suppose I'm a little bias. But, I don't believe in luck. I know my brother worked hard to get to where he is today. From the time he was a child, to the present.

So probability, being in the right place at the right time, working hard to help make things happen, and most importantly God's plan for us...yes. But luck...not so much.

Congratulations Ricardo on your terrific accomplishments thus far!

a little of this & a little of pictures

Feeding the ducks at Brackenridge Park last Friday...

C's first trip to the beach in July 2006...

C holding seeds from a Mountain Laurel tree...

C helping shovel mulch...

C feeding a dolphin at Sea World in April 2008...

I realized most of the above pictures are of C. So, just for fun, here are Baby P and L...a while back.

Can you guess who is who? :)

July.13.2009 photo shoot

Instead of going to a local portrait studio to get our boys' pictures taken (Baby P's 9 month and C and L's long overdue 4 and 2 year photos), I thought I would give it a try myself. Well, not quite all by myself! A friend and I went to the Japanese Tea Gardens and took a lot of pictures of our precious kiddos. Here are some of my favorites.

I'm looking forward to doing some editing with Photoshop Elements!
Some things I learned when photographing small children:
  • Instead of asking them to smile, you tell them (jokingly), "Whatever you do, don't smile or laugh!"
  • Loud animals noises are often successful in extracting smiles...not only from your children, but from passersby.
  • Take about 200 pictures to get maybe 10-20 really good ones.
  • And the #1 thing I learned today...don't forget the M&M's!!!

I dare you not to smile

Here is a super cute video of C making L laugh. C is about 2 1/2 years old and L is 8 months old. Go ahead and watch...and I dare you not to smile or even laugh.

Oh, and by the way, L still has the same wonderful belly laugh! And C continues to take pleasure in making his brothers laugh.

pool fun

oh, what fun...with photoshop

Thanks to a friend of mine, I've discovered this wonderful website - - an really cool photography/ scrapbooking website offering classes. Thanks K!

I am in the middle of taking a class and have learned some neato techniques. Here are some photos I've edited using Photoshop Elements.

Oh, what fun! Okay, I'm getting closer to my digital scrapbooking goal. :)
