what I love

I love...

...that the boys are still at the ages where you can fill up a plastic pool and they have a blast with it.

...how C is helping Baby P in this photo. A lot of times he just knows what his baby brother wants and helps him out without me even having to ask.

It really is about the simple things, and I try to not overlook these precious moments that bring such joy and pass way too quickly. I admit, it's not always easy to remember how lovely we have it, amidst the constant needs of 3 young boys, laundry, dishes, chores, playing referee, more laundry, more dishes, meal preparation, playing referee again, more chores, never ending to do lists, and on and on. But that's one reason I love photos so much. They capture fun moments you can go back to and say, "Ah yes, life is good." It's good to be reminded in the off chance I might have forgotten to stop, breathe, and take in the joy.

kindergarten!

C's first few days of kindergarten have been great! He started Monday and has looked forward to going back.

He was very excited to start on Monday. His Nana called Sunday evening, and C was able to tell her (in great detail) what the plan for the next day would be. When Monday morning came around, I could tell he was a bit nervous, but that was totally to be expected.  I admit I was a bit nervous also.

Kinder!

C had a whole method to placing his backpack and lunch box in the car and has stuck with it since Monday. Too cute!

Kinder!

Off we go!

Kinder!

We got to school pretty early (yay!), and I had time to take some pictures before we went in. (Thank you mom for coming over to stay with L and P!)

C didn't mind at all since he got to watch the school buses. He was pretty excited about it. He said, "Mommy look! There's a school bus!" Then shortly after that, "Look, another school bus!" It dawned on me after I dropped him off that C finally got to see where the school buses actually go.

Kinder!

I just love these next two photos of C! I think they show his sweet personality.

Kinder!

I walked him into the school and to the cafeteria where the kindergartners waited to go to their classrooms. Again, I could see a bit of nervousness.

Kinder!

When it was time, I followed C's class to their room (along with a small entourage of parents) to say bye and get one last photo. I got my cue it was time to leave when the principal came over the speaker to welcome all the students to the first day of class and then said, kindly, "Okay parents, please start making your way out so the teachers can start their day."

Kinder!

When C got in the car after school the first day he said, "I like school!" Wow, that sure made this mommy's heart happy!

Our C man is doing so well adjusting to kindergarten! We are so very proud of him and happy for him!!!

don't touch my wedgits!

One sunny afternoon, Baby P was happily building with wedgits.

fun with wedgits

He loves building with these. In fact, it's one thing he will sit and do for a whole 10 minutes or so.

fun with wedgits

This masterpiece was created by Baby P, totally on his own. I know! I think he's advanced. :)

fun with wedgits

Then, to Baby P's horror, his older brothers came near his wedgits.

fun with wedgits

What in the world?! Um, I think Baby P thought his brothers were going to take away his precious wedgits. After some reassurance they were not there to steal wedgits or to destroy all of his hard work, he calmed down and continued creating.

Yep, he's advanced I tell ya!

how I became a pirate

Memorial Day weekend (almost 3 months ago-Yikes!) we took the boys to see 'How I Became a Pirate' at The Magik Theatre. It was based on the first book in a two book series - the second book being 'Pirates Don't Change Diapers.' Both of these stories are fun reads!

While we waited for the theatre to open, we hung out at a playground right outside and burned off some energy.

This is the best picture I got of Baby P that day. The boy is in constant motion!

always on the move

And what's a play without some popcorn?!

ready for the show

This was our second play to see at The Magik Theatre. Last year we saw 'If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,' which was cute. But I think this time was a bit more fun because all three boys sat and watched the entire play pretty attentively!

back in May...

...our C man had his last day of preschool.

Last Day at OHCP

It's just so funny how you cannot truly understand something until you have been there. Before we had kids and even when C was an infant, I did not get why your child starting kindergarten was so emotional for so many parents. Well, I totally get it now. Our C man starts kinder in ONE week...that's just 7 more days! And while I'm so excited for him, it's...well...emotional for different reasons. For starters, I can't believe he is 5 1/2!  And it's a new environment where he'll be with someone else a lot of the time. But I know he'll do super!

Anyways, back to the end of preschool now. At Oak Hills Church Preschool,  the classes celebrated the end of the school year with a picnic.

Here, the kids are enjoying popsicles their teacher brought for them. Yum!

The 2 big boys, complete with L's wacky smile he gives you when you ask for one. Is he happy, or mad? Hmmmm?

Last Day at OHCP

Here is the C man and his buddy, E, walking on the rocks. C and E were in the same preschool class for 2 years. And E's younger brother L will be in our L's preschool class this year. Fun!

Corbin also finished one school year at Aragon Spanish Preschool. His small class showed off what they learned and had a graduation ceremony.

So, just a few more days and our C man will officially be a kindergartener. Wow! We get to meet his teacher this Thursday evening. Yay!

our sweet niece and a new look!

Well, it's been a while but I am determined to better keep up with my blogging. Not only is it fun for me but it's just a great way to document family happenings I want to remember. And to keep me all the more motivated to blog I have this pretty new design! Thank you to Katrina at KS Designs!! She did such a a fabulous job designing just what I had in mind!

-------------------------

In other very exciting news, we have a beautiful new niece!!! Okay, so she was born over a month ago. But like I said, I'm just a bit behind with the blogging situation.

I had the wonderful honor of being present for her birth! It was so amazing, and I'm so thankful I could be there.

The morning of June 29th my brother called a bit before 6 a.m. to let us know they were checking into the hospital. I wasn't sure if I should go because our Little L was sick and had a fever. But after getting the okay from my brother (he asked the L&D nurse) and finding out that my sister-in-law was already at 7 cm(!!!) I rushed to get ready and leave for the hospital. Thank goodness I did! Their sweet baby girl was born at 8:25 that morning!!! My sister-in-law did awesome and had a totally drug free birth! And my brother also did really great with being loving and supportive. It all just happened so fast!
