When the boys picked out their costumes for Halloween this past year, L insisted on being the same thing C chose...Optimus Prime. He did this even after picking out his own Diego costume out at the store, which I ended up returning. Here is L showing off his costume at the annual preschool Fall Parade.
L's class also had their Fall Party that day.
P got to join in on the fun!
Then came Halloween and trick-or-treating fun!!
Baby P was reluctant to wear his adorable lion costume. But after I explained that his wearing it would lead to him receiving candy, well, he was all aboard with that idea!
My brother, SIL and sweet Baby E joined us for the fun.
And come to think of it, we STILL have candy from Halloween. It'll probably just go in the trash at this point. What do you do with all the candy your kids get? Do they eat it...do you eat it? I've also heard of some people having their kids trade it in for coupons or something. We may have to try that next year.
One of the most fun things we do in October is visit the pumpkin patch, pick out pumpkins, then carve them. This past October we met my brother, SIL, and adorable little niece for fun at the pumpkin patch.
Look, a picture of the 5 of us! Yay! Man, I love my guys!!!
Now, for some messy fun! I love how the boys will request what kind of face to give the pumpkin - mad, scary, happy, etc. I think C asked for a mad face this year.
Ewwww!
I actually forgot to take a picture of the finished product. Oops! Oh well, it looked good, and the boys had a blast helping their Daddy carve it!
In September, our Baby P turned 2 years old! It's hard to believe that over 2 years have gone by since I held him as a newborn, soaking in every last bit of his sweetness in!
The morning of his birthday, Baby P got to open his gift from us, which was a crayola set with crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc. He loves to color! Later that morning I took him to get some balloons.
I just had to throw this one in there because this face is so rare for him...not!
For his birthday dinner, we went to eat with my family at Stonewerks (love that place!) and then had a Sesame Street cake and opened presents at our house. We were also supposed to have a family birthday party in Houston the weekend after his birthday, but we had the dreaded stomach virus presence in our home and couldn't travel. Boo!
Baby P enjoyed his birthday, and fulfills the role of a 2-year-old very well. He is sweet and terrible. That is the perfect way to describe him. He's super sweet, loves his brothers, gives the best hugs and kisses and still wants to be rocked before getting in bed at night. He also likes to have his way, yesterday!! He definitely holds his own as the baby of the family.
We love you so, so much!!! Happy belated 2 years to the baby boy who made us Mommy and Daddy to 3 precious boys. A dream we never knew we had until it became reality!
L started preschool in September! He is in the Mighty Moose class. How cute is that?
He LOVES school and is always so excited to go!
His teacher is super sweet and so excited to be teaching a class of 10 3-year-olds! And I love that she always reminds them that God made them mighty!
It gives me so much joy that both C and L are enjoying school and doing well!
Aaaand...away we go with a synopsis of the rest of our summer/ beginning of September. Hang in there. I really want to have a record of this so there are lots of photos. (And I still have the fall through Christmas to blog about....eek!)
A visit to Landa Park with friends:
The boys had a dental checkup before starting school. This was C's 2nd or 3rd time and L's first. They did great! Even Baby P, who did not officially have an appointment, requested that the hygienist check his teeth.
C playing dentist and L going along with it!
I love this look. He's like, "Umm, what are you going to do next?!"
C started Kindergarten August! You can read about that here.
Our friends invited us to the Labor Day Parade in Boerne. This was the boys' first parade and they loved it! Of course, the best part was the candy they collected.
On Labor Day, we went to Guadalupe State Park with my family.
Our sweet, little niece:
P LOVED playing with these rocks. He would fill his bucket with rocks, dump them, and fill it up again. He did this over and over and over.
He also loved playing with this grass. What smiles!
L found this big stick and thought it was the coolest thing. I think this face he's making is his "Firestorm" face. Firestorm is a superhero he made up and acts out. So cute and funny!
C found this and totally thought it was a bone from a deer!
All worn out from a day at the river...
...which means it must have been super fun!
