Christmas Happenings

Wow! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Crazy, huh? What's even more wild is that we are almost a decade into the 2000's.

I've always loved Christmas. And now, having 3 little boys makes it extra special and fun. Here are some fun things we've been doing these days.

Santa Visit:

We met C's preschool class at the mall to have a picture taken with Santa. At first, C did not want to go near Santa. But after seeing some of his classmates get their picture taken with the jolly fellow, he felt more at ease.

C With Santa

L took a little more convincing to get near Santa. He cautiously approached Santa to say thank you for the jingle bells he had received. Then, Santa was nice enough to gently guide L near him for a picture opportunity.

Hmmm, I don't think L is too sure about this Santa character.

We also had fun building a gingerbread house this past Sunday. Well, by 'we' I mean my husband and the boys. (I stood by with the camera.)

first lost tooth

Last month, our oldest son lost his first tooth! We were sitting in the living room at Nana & Papa's house, and C tells us his tooth is gone. I thought we would have a hard time finding it because who knew exactly where or when it had fallen out. But after looking for only a few minutes, we found it on the floor.

First Lost Tooth

He was so excited. Here he is with his tooth in a pouch awaiting the tooth fairy.

First Lost Tooth

The next morning he woke up, came to me and asked if he could look under his pillow. How sweet is that?! After getting the okay from me to look under his pillow, he found a shiny silver dollar.

A few hours after finding the coin, I heard him say that the tooth fairy had turned his tooth into a coin. Then a few days later, my mom was asking C what he wanted for Christmas. And do you know what he told her? "A new tooth."  Love it!

I'm So Excited...

...and I just don't have to hide it anymore! We were blessed with the most wonderful news a few weeks ago, but couldn't share it until now. It's been so hard to keep it a secret!

No, we're not having another baby. But it is baby news. Who is having the baby?

Me to L: "L, you did a good job today obeying and not saying no as much!"

L replies: "No! {brief pause} I say no."

How about that?! Man, if it wasn't for that cute smile and those eyes, he'd be in big trouble.

Our C Man

C Chit Chat:

We were getting in the car to go somewhere a couple of months ago and our oldest son says:

"Do you know why it's sunny? Because Jesus is the light."

Melt my heart! He sure is. And you, my little C man, are a light in our lives.

------------------------------

Here is our C Man 'reading' a book titled, Dot The Firedog. I say 'reading' because he is reciting the book from memory after only having it read to him a handful of times!

Don't you just love the throat clearing before he starts reading?!

Baby P

Our Baby P will be 14 months old this week. Wow! About 1 year ago, he looked like this: Baby P Nov 2008

These precious little babies change so much in such a short amount of time. Baby P does new things all the time. I have a journal where I try and keep track of new things our boys do and the great, funny things they say.

Here is what Baby P is up to these days.
Walks fast! He is always on the go.

He loves to play outside. His favorite things to do outside include collecting acorns and rocks, playing with dirt and playing with balls.

His dancing consists of bopping up and down while standing.

His vocabulary includes "Uh oh" and that's about it. But don't be fooled. He's very vocal and gets his point across! He also understands so much, like when we tell him it's time to eat, get your shoes, give that to (insert name), clean your hands and much more.

He screams when he's mad. It's an "AAAGH, AAAGH, AAAGH" kind of screaming.

Roars for just about every animal noise. For example, he'll pick up a toy shark and say "arrr."

He's done such cute, smart things like: taken some dirty clothes out of his brothers' hamper, walk from their room to his and put said clothes in his hamper and taken his socks off and put them in our shoe basket by the front door.

One day, I asked Baby P if he had poo poo in his diaper. (I knew he did by the all too familiar odor coming from his bottom.) He grabbed his clothes and tugged on them. Then, he went over to the diaper box in the living room and took out the wipes. When I came over to him, I asked him to lie down so I could change his diaper and he did! Of course, it seems that more times than not it's a battle to change the boy's diaper. He's just too busy to be still long enough for a diaper change.

One molar has come through on the bottom right and #2 is on it's way.

Sometimes when one of his big brothers is crying, he'll make a sad face in imitation of their misery.

He'll 'clean' his hands by rubbing them together.

He likes to point to things that he find interesting and say "Oh!"

The boy does not like milk!

Typically takes 2 naps and sleeps from about 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Know where his eyes, nose and mouth are.

Weighs about 20 pounds and is now facing front in his car seat.

And something we discovered this weekend...He does not like it when husband and I hug! He comes over and screams and pulls on my clothes.
Baby P certainly has his own wonderful, exciting personality! What a joy he is...that is when he's not screaming at me because I'm hugging his Daddy. :) BabyPPlayingOutside
Love you Baby P!!!

costumes and candy

The boys were pretty excited about Halloween this year. Well it's mainly our C man, since he has formed memories of previous years and is now able to really look forward to these fun happenings.

The Friday before Halloween, C had his Fall parade and party at his preschool. He had so much fun! And I just love watching him in that context.

For the parade, all the kids wear their costumes and, well, parade around as excited moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and family pets watch. Okay well, it's mainly parents and grandparents. :)

It is too cute!!!

----------

On Halloween, we went over to my parents' neighborhood and enjoyed an evening of trick-or-treating with my mom, dad, brother and sis-in-law. We even got to go on a hayride hosted by one of the neighbors!

Mmmmm, L enjoying some of his candy.

Until next year!

pumpkin patch

A couple of weeks ago, we took advantage of our gorgeous Fall weather and took the boys to the pumpkin patch.

Here is a picture of all 3 boys...before we gave Baby P a pumpkin to hold.

And after:

That's better. :)

Brothers checking out the pumpkins:

C with his class monkey friend, Marvy. (Marvelous the Monkey takes turns coming home with his preschool friends for a few days at a time.)

L, actually sitting still and smiling for me:

And last, but certainly not least, Baby P having fun exploring the pumpkin patch:

Three little pumpkins for our three little pumpkins:

----------

Then, a few days later the big boys and Daddy carved our big pumpkin. As you can see from L's facial expression, he thought the inside of the pumpkin what a bit gross. Oh, and imagine him saying "Ewwwww! Gross! Stinks!"

Hmmm, maybe he'll hang in there with the pumpkin carving.

Ummm, nope.

He left the scene of the pumpkin carving soon after that last picture.

----------
L enjoyed painting his little pumpkin a whole lot more than having to touch and smell the innards of the large one. C also painted his and then generously volunteered to paint Baby P's. We obliged and let him do so...you know, since Baby P would probably still rather taste the paints than actually paint with them.

And here you have the results of the carving and painting...drum roll please...Okay it's not that exciting, just thought I'd try my hand at a little humor.
