you know you've mastered the mom voice when...

...complete (adult) strangers respond to you, when in fact you are speaking to your 2 year old.

During our visit to the Texas State Aquarium, I thought L had put his finger in the tank pictured below.


So I said, "L, did you just put your finger in that water?!"

And much to my surprise an adult male turned to me and said (like he was in trouble), "Uh, no I didn't."

I guess I've mastered my mom voice....although, I'm pretty sure L didn't ever answer me.
